Remake “Sea Salt Spa Bar”

21 May

For the past year or so, I really wanted to purchase an acrylic mold for my salt bars, as I really hate cutting salt bars.  I have burnt my fingers more than once.  So I finally caved and purchased a beautiful mold from Soap Making Resources.  I really love it.

So the first time I used it, I poured all of by my soap batter into the mold, and then placed in the dividers.  It worked beautifully, except for one thing.  I should not have poured all of my batter into the mold, because these bars are huge.  Each one weighs minimum of 245 grams.  I have listed these on my website for $10.00 each, which I think is a fair price for the size.  We will have to see if they sell.  Anyway I have wrapped them in ribbon and a little jewel, so they are quite pretty.

These bars are scented in Spearmint, Eucalyptus and a touch of Peppermint.  Very fresh and clean.  Also, I’ve added 40% sea salt to these bars.  Very detoxifying, moisturizing and fresh.seasaltspa2013

Even though they weren’t quite what you were expecting size-wise, they are absolutely lovely looking! =)

I have the same mold, I love it, but I had no idea how big the bars would be either!! I’ve had mine for over a year, and I still make the bars to big! It’s really hard to not fill the mold all the way full! The salt bars are really pretty though! 🙂

Thank you. Yes I think it takes a little practice to get it right. I’ve made more, and they were on the smaller side. Better than being so big though! Thanks for the nice comments.
